Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has made it clear that he will not be going back to Barcelona.
In a straightforward announcement, Guardiola stated that he has permanently closed the door on any possibility of returning to his former club.
It is to be noted that Guardiola has had an illustrious career with Barcelona both as a player and a coach.
His time at the club is often remembered fondly by fans, as he led the team to numerous victories and helped shape the club’s modern identity. However, despite this successful past, Guardiola has firmly decided that his future lies elsewhere.
Asked if the door is permanently closed for his return to Barcelona, he said, “Yes, door closed,” as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

Guardiola’s decision comes after years of speculation and rumours about a potential return to Barcelona. Many fans and football analysts have long hoped that he might one day go back to the club where he achieved so much success.
These hopes were fueled by the strong emotional connection he has with Barcelona, as well as the mutual respect between him and the club’s supporters. After all, he emerged from the club’s academy not only as a player but also as a coach.
However, Guardiola’s recent statements have put an end to these speculations.
In his declaration, Guardiola was outright with his response and in all honesty, considering Barcelona’s struggles, one cannot really blame him.
It is not that Guardiola does not acknowledge the special place Barcelona hold in his heart, but he made it clear that he believes it is time to move on and focus on his current role at Manchester City.
