June 13 – UEFA is opening up a new sponsorship programme centred on commercialising its referees across all its competitions.
Within the UEFA Partnership portfolio, the UEFA Refereeing Programme will offer a set of sponsorship rights including sleeve branding on referee kits.”
“UEFA has the pleasure to announce the launch of the first-ever UEFA Refereeing Commercial Programme,” said UEFA
“This new opportunity within the UEFA Partnership portfolio will provide a platform to champion the UEFA Refereeing Programme and offer a set of rights including sleeve branding on referee kits across UEFA competitions.”
The sales process for the new sponsorship categories is being handled by Two Circles.
Sponsorship of referees kit is not uncommon in football with UK retail optician chain Specsavers having been the most visible in British football.
