A young man from Jamestown, aged 23, is facing legal consequences following an incident that occurred at around 2:15 a.m. on a Saturday near Spirtwood Lake in Stutsman County, North Dakota.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the man was operating a vehicle heading east on 25th Street. As he approached the intersection with 94th Avenue SE, the car veered off the road and ended up in the north ditch before coming to a stop in a nearby farm field.
Both the driver and his passenger, a 22-year-old woman also from Jamestown who suffered minor injuries, deserted the scene of the accident and walked to a nearby resort. Authorities noted that they did not make any attempt to report the crash.
Subsequently, they departed from the resort prior to the arrival of law enforcement officers. The driver was eventually apprehended and charged with actual physical control as well as leaving the scene of a collision involving personal injury.
