West Ham look set to launch a third bid for Wolves defender Max Kilman; who was the subject of a part-exchange offer from Newcastle United over the weekend.

The Telegraph reported that Newcastle offered Elliot Anderson-plus-cash for the centre-back, but this offer was quickly rejected with the club demanding £40m.

A few days later, Fabrizio Romano reveals that West Ham are still pushing to sign the 27-year-old and look set to launch another bid. Their opening offer of £25m was quickly knocked back and it’s believed their second bid was a part-exchange proposal, which was again rejected by Wolves.

It remains to be seen if Newcastle will return with another offer for the 6ft 4′ defender, as it seems new Hammers boss Julen Lopetegui is eager to be reunited with Kilman; a player he worked with during his spell at Molineux.

Kilman would be a solid addition – he’s got plenty of Premier League experience, captains his club and is another who could kick on under Eddie Howe – but I wonder if there’s better options on the market given this would be the likely long-term replacement for Fabian Schar.

Second proposal also included one player as part of the deal but Wolves rejected again.
