How is the Copa América structured?
In this year’s tournament, 16 teams will participate. These are split into four groups, where each team plays against each other once. The two teams with the most points from each group will advance to a stage knockout: quarterfinals, semifinals and final.

How many points are awarded during group stage?
Win: 3 pointsTie: 1 pointLoose: 0 points
During the knockout stages there are no ties. On the quarterfinals and semifinals, if both teams have the same score at the end of the 90 minutes, they will advance to penalties.
On the final, if both teams have the same score at the end of the 90 minutes, they will first advance to two 15-minute halves before heading to penalties if there’s still a tie.
