USA Cycling announced an update to the Paris 2024 Olympic road race roster this morning, just a couple weeks out from the Games.
Kristen Faulkner (Homer, Alaska; EF-Oatly-Cannondale) will now don the Team USA kit in Paris, replacing Taylor Knibb (Washington, D.C.; Trek Factory Racing) in the road race. Knibb, a professional triathlete, will compete in the time trial and triathlon.
Chloé Dygert (Brownsburg, Ind.; CANYON//SRAM Racing) will compete in both the road race and time trial.
Ahead of the Olympics, USA Cycling earned two spots in both of the women’s road cycling events.
Dygert earned one of those spots after winning the 2023 UCI Time Trial World Championships, which qualified her for both the Olympic time trial and road race.

In May, Knibb stunned the cycling world with a victory in the US National Time Trial Championship. The win automatically qualified her for the other spot in both the Olympic time trial and road race.
However, early this week Knibb resigned from her position in the road race, opting to focus on the time trial and triathlon events. In light of this decision, Faulkner was selected to join Dygert in the road race in Paris. The EF rider won the elite national road race title in May.
In addition to the road race on August 4, Dygert and Faulkner will compete in the women’s team pursuit, with qualifying starting on August 6.
