TEMPE, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has named 12 student-athletes from the Drexel men’s and women’s tennis teams as scholar-athletes. Both teams were also recognized for their excellence in the classroom by being named ITA All-Academic Teams.
To be eligible to be recognized for the ITA Scholar-Athlete, an athlete must maintain a 3.5 GPA for the academic year and must be listed on the institutional eligibility form. For a program to be recognized as an ITA All-Academic Team, the program must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above and all student-athletes included for be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
Seven men’s student-athletes were included on the list. Alessio Azzalini, Will Burridge, Alex De Sousa, Josue Guzman, Alan Jesudason, Egor Kirakosov and Hussein El Tawil round out the list for Drexel.
On the women’s team, Elisa Rigazio, Isabel Cabrerizo, Maddie Ricardo, Rebecca Fiedler and Renata Lombera represent the Dragons.
