Marshalltown junior boys tennis player Isaac Benscoter was named to the Iowa Alliance Conference’s North Division first team, the league announced late last week.
Benscoter posted a 5-8 record playing as the Bobcats’ top singles player in the spring. He was one of seven first-team all-North Division selections.
Making the second team for Marshalltown were seniors Jacob Thiessen and Dale Greene. Thiessen went 6-8 as the Bobcats’ No. 2 singles player, while Greene was a combined 7-8 individually playing primarily out of the No. 3 position.
Greene was a district semifinalist in the individual bracket, while Benscoter and Thiessen made their state tournament debuts as a doubles team.
Marshalltown’s boys’ tennis team finished third in the Alliance North this season with a 1-2 mark.
