Barcelona and Bournemouth have been in close talks in recent weeks around the future of Julian Araujo after it became clear that the manager did not count on him.
In fact, reports earlier today forwarded that the player’s move to the Premier League was close to being done with the paperwork almost finalised and the transfer fee fixed at €10 million.
According to a recent update from Bar Canaletes, however, the young right-back is not the only Barcelona player who interests the English side.
Talks for Vitor Roque
As revealed by the Spanish podcast, Bournemouth are also interested in signing another Barcelona outcast in Vitor Roque.
The youngster was largely out of favour under Xavi Hernandez’s command last season, and while many expected his situation to improve under Hansi Flick, it does not appear to have seen much of a turnaround.
In fact, the arrival and immediate acclimatisation of Pau Victor has only gone on to complicate Roque’s chances of succeeding at the club and earning minutes.
The Brazilian, thus, does not rule out a departure and is on Bournemouth’s radar on that front. The English club propose a loan with an option to buy but it remains to be seen if Barcelona are conducive to that option.
Joan Laporta and co. are reportedly against selling Roque permanently, especially considering the large fee they forked out for his signing last season.
A loan move may be well accepted but the clause to purchase could well act as a bottleneck.
Since arriving in January 2024, Roque made 14 appearances for Barcelona, averaging 23 minutes per game.
Notably, he only enjoyed two starts in that duration and had two goals to show.
