With the new La Liga season only a few days away, FC Barcelona have some crucial business to take care of, so that they are able to register their unregistered stars, such as new signing Dani Olmo, in time to face Valencia at the weekend.
For that to happen though it appears that the Blaugrana are in need of finalising one or more exits so as to free up salary margin and register their desired players.
One player whose exit is bound to help in that regard is Clement Lenglet. The Frenchman has featured quite regularly during pre-season but does not have a place in the squad due to his high wages as well as the number of centre-backs.
Lenglet closing in on exit
Despite him not being in Hansi Flick’s plans, Barcelona registered Clement Lenglet with La Liga earlier this week, along with Ansu Fati and Eric Garcia.
However, according to Mundo Deportivo, the fact that he has been registered is a formality before releasing him in order to generate ‘fair play’ as Barcelona did last season with him before he went on loan to Aston Villa.

In reality, the Blaugrana sporting department, led by Deco, is close to finalising the French centre-back’s exit, on what could be another loan deal, with Atletico Madrid and Villarreal emerging as the most interested clubs.
This past Sunday there was a meeting between Barça officials and Lenglet’s agent, Gregory Dakad, at the Ciutat Esportiva, following which efforts have been intensified to find a solution for him.
Reports suggested that a move to Atletico Madrid was as good as a done deal, although it is not yet guaranteed, with Villarreal also in the fray.
Lenglet’s exit could be a big boost for Barcelona in their bid to register new players and as such they will hope to finalise his departure as soon as possible.
