Barcelona have reportedly made a significant step toward signing Federico Chiesa from Juventus, but there is still work to do before finalising this transfer.
Journalist Adrian Sanchez has exclusively told Barça Universal that Barcelona have reached an agreement in principle with Chiesa’s agent, Fali Ramadani. However, there is still no formal offer from Barcelona to Juventus for the Italian winger.
This is because the Catalan club is currently focusing on offloading players and urgently registering Dani Olmo, their recent signing.
Right now, the main priority for Barcelona is to ensure that Olmo is officially registered with the team. Despite being signed in early August, Olmo is yet to make his debut due to registration issues.
Why the delay in Olmo’s registration?
The situation is complicated by the need to finalise the departures of Clement Lenglet and Vitor Roque. Lenglet is close to joining Atletico Madrid, while Vitor Roque is nearing a move to Real Betis.
However, until these exits are confirmed and officially completed, Olmo’s registration cannot go ahead.
Olmo’s camp is understandably frustrated with these delays. The player’s representatives are growing impatient with the situation, as they had expected a smoother transition and quicker integration into the Barcelona squad.
