Over the last few days, Barcelona’s pursuit of Federico Chiesa has gained momentum, but that does not mean the club has forgotten about AC Milan’s Rafael Leao.
In fact, according to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona still have an interest in signing Leao, even though they see the deal as very difficult to achieve.
With less than a week remaining in the transfer window, Barcelona are keen to make further additions to their squad, and Leao’s name is still a prominent option on their list.
Despite Barcelona’s interest, AC Milan’s CEO has made it clear that there is ‘no chance he is leaving the club.’
The Italian side sees Leao as a key player in their plans, and they are not eager to part ways with him. This makes the situation quite complicated for Barcelona, who remain hopeful but know they are facing a tough task.
Barcelona will not give up
The Rossoneri consider Leao non-transferable and have no intention of letting him go unless an extraordinary offer comes in.
Reports in Italy suggest that Milan would only entertain a sale for a substantial fee, which means Barcelona would need to dig deep into their pockets if they want to secure the Portuguese forward.
