With a little over two days left before the summer transfer window comes to an end, FC Barcelona are seemingly making a few late moves.
Injuries have led to the Catalans looking to add a new centre-back and a new defensive midfielder, Financial Fair Play situation permitting.
A loan offer for Liverpool midfielder Stefan Bajcetic has already been made while Barcelona are also exploring a deal for Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah to strengthen the backline.
Reports in Spain even suggest that a formal offer worth €20 million has already been made to the German international who is also a target for Bayern Munich.
Leverkusen director rules out exit
However, despite all the speculations, Bayer Leverkusen director Simon Rolfes has ruled out the possibility of Jonathan Tah leaving the club.
The former footballer even insisted that there have been no contacts with Barcelona or Bayern regarding a move for the experienced defender.
“I’m expecting Jonathan Tah to stay. I had no call with Bayern or Barça recently,” he told SkyDE, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

“There are no news at all regarding a deal, so I expect him to stay,” he added.
Rolfes has echoed the sentiments of Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso, who on Tuesday insisted that he does not expect Tah to leave the club this summer.
“We are calm. Tah is a mature player and is totally focused. We are not contemplating any moves,” Alonso had said.
Injuries to Andreas Christensen and Eric Garcia have rocked Barcelona, who already came into the season without defensive mainstay Ronald Araujo – sidelined until December.
But with Marc Bernal’s injury exposing a lack of depth in midfield, it remains to be seen whether Barcelona opt to sign a new centre-back or a midfielder or have the financial mettle to go for both.
