Its eerie moniker stems from Louellen’s extensive array of skeleton figures. As autumn rolls in, she brings forth her collection from storage and decorates her yard with them.
These bony reside are dressed in whimsical outfits crafted by Louellen herself. The Berger family enhances their display with hundreds of humorous signs featuring cheeky phrases such as “lazy bones,” “attached at the hip,” and ”bone dry.”
The Queen of Halloween’s Creativity
Locally celebrated as the Queen of Halloween, Louellen takes pride in designing seasonal themes; past exhibits have included captivating titles like Maison Maskquerade and E.T. Bone Home. Her skeletal figures sport clever names such as “King Gore-ge” and “Snoop Dogg-Gone.”
Terror Swift Takes Center Stage
To coincide with Taylor Swift’s much-anticipated concerts at Caesars Superdome later this month, Louellen has unveiled “Terror Swift: The scEras Tour” across her vibrant lawn. “It was a lightbulb moment for us,” she shared during a recent Zoom call. “We read about Taylor including New Orleans on her tour itinerary.”

The Bergers have been meticulously planning their intricately designed setup since summer 2023. A striking 12-foot representation of Swift attired in her iconic frilled gown stands alongside an 8-foot version resembling Travis Kelce.
The display embodies every album era—from Whitman-inspired beginnings to her latest works—a quintessential tribute encapsulated within skeletal forms.
A figure adorned in a dark bodysuit reminiscent of “Reputation” clutches a cherry-colored telephone cord ominously; beneath it a sign reads: “Reputation can’t take your call right now due to… un-life.” Another skeleton dressed elegantly evokes vibes from “Evermore,” flaunting signs that say “No body, no crime” alongside another track title showcasing Berger’s creativity.
A Nod to Craftsmanship Passed Down Generations
Sitting atop Berger’s workspace lies an artistic blueprint created by one of her imaginative granddaughters detailing each album iteration planned for their fascinating exhibit.
“Having spent years as corporate fashion director at a major department store until retiring in the late ’80s,” she reminisces fondly about returning to sewing over summer break.
“I worked non-stop for three weeks after Labor Day,” says Louellen proudly while showing off minor burn marks from hot glue applications—a testament to her hard work

“I’ve been blessed with boundless energy,” she laughs recalling marathon crafting sessions fueled solely by health bars or light lunches.
Welcoming Thousands During Concert Pyrotechnics
