All-Ireland League – Division 2A – Round 3
Cashel RFC 43
Buccaneers 0
Cashel RFC continued their excellent early season form with a comprehensive 43-0 win over host club Buccaneers last Saturday afternoon.
Cashel have had a fine start to the season thus far, with bonus point wins over Old Crescent and Banbridge, and the bonus point wins continue to come after an easy six-try demolition of their opponents in round 3, which now leaves the Tipperary club sitting pretty atop Division 2A.
Dominant throughout the game, Cashel were always in control and despite a close enough scoreline of 10-0 at half-time, the Tipp club never looked back in the second half as they registered five tries in the second period to claim the victory.
The bonus point try came 20 minutes from time when the Cashel pack got their rolling maul moving and with the try line coming, the Buccaneers forwards brought down the move illegally which gave the referee no choice but to run for the posts and award the penalty try for the hosts.
From there, Cashel scored two late tries to put the icing on top of this dominant performance. There is a two-week break now for Cashel and after that, they will face Ballymena in round 4.
