The Chicago White Sox finished last in the AL Central last season.

With 121 losses, the White Sox broke the record for most in a season in the modern era of Major League Baseball.

The White Sox fired manager Pedro Grifol in August, and Grady Sizemore took over as interim manager for the remainder of the season.

Sizemore recently gave his honest admission about his time as interim manager.

“Overall, it was a fun experience. I learned that I like working with players, I like making an impact,” Sizemore said, via MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM.

“It still doesn’t feel real.”

Though it wasn’t an ideal situation for Sizemore, who was a player for 10 seasons, the last in 2015, he appeared to make the most of his time as manager of the White Sox.

Sizemore noted that it was a difficult season for the team, but he believes they ended it on a better trajectory.

Sizemore will not manage the White Sox in 2025 after they hired Will Venable in late October.

The White Sox have missed the postseason for three straight seasons after making the playoffs in 2020 and 2021.

Chicago will have some work to do if it wants to contend in the AL Central as the division produced three playoff teams in 2024.

The White Sox had a rock-bottom season in 2024, so it will be hard to get much worse in 2025.
