Barrera Favors Espinoza Over Robeisy
“After speaking to them, they both said that the best version of themselves would show up for the rematch. I’m surprised at that because both visited the canvas during the first fight,” stated Marco Antonio Barrera to High Rank Boxing, speaking concerning the Rafael Espinoza vs. Robeisy Ramirez within the co-feature bout on Saturday evening.
“You don’t usually see that when you have a Mexico vs. Cuban fight and a rematch. In my heart, because I am a Mexican, I wouldn’t see it as 50-50. I’d see it as 48-52,” stated Barrera, favoring Espinoza to win towards Ramirez.
It is a measurement factor. Espinoza is large for the 126-lb division, and Robeisy appears like he’s extra of a bantamweight subsequent to him. He doesn’t have the scale or the work charge to take care of Espinoza’s high-volume type.
“In that fight, it’s 50-50. They’re both Mexicans,” stated Barrera about the primary occasion battle between WBO tremendous featherweight champion Emanuel Navarrete and Oscar Valdez. “The one that does have to make adjustments is Oscar Valdez.”
Barrera has acquired it proper. The previous two-division world champion Valdez might want to make a variety of changes to win the rematch as a result of he was utterly dominated by Navarrete final 12 months on August 12, 2023. Navarrete received by the scores 119-109, 118-110 and 116-112. The extra correct rating of these three was the 119-109.
Can Valdez Upset Navarrete?
At most, Valdez appeared to win one spherical, and it was a miracle that his nook didn’t cease the battle as a result of he was by no means at any stage. It’s not that Navarrete has higher abilities than him.
It’s the scale. He’s a lot larger, stronger, and has a better work charge. In opposition to Robson Conceicao and Denys Berincyn, fighters nearer to Navarrete’s measurement, he was outboxed by each.
“We know that Emanuel Navarrete has a very difficult style. When he backs up, he’s very long. We know it’s going to be very difficult for him [Valdez] to deal with that. Because this fight will be very different, Valdez will have to have a plan A, B, and C,” stated Barrera.
