Mahad Abdi Mohamed was discovered with a gunshot wound to the head when emergency services, including the police and the London Ambulance Service, arrived in response to a shooting reported on Waverley Road in Tottenham around 20:45 GMT on Thursday.
A 26-year-old man sustained a gunshot injury to his leg and underwent surgery; he is currently in stable condition, according to the Metropolitan Police.
The police have launched a murder inquiry but reported that no arrests had been made yet, and detectives are seeking information from the public.
In a heartfelt statement, Mr. Mohamed’s family requested privacy during this extremely challenging time, expressing their gratitude for the support and understanding they have received.

“We are aware of the significant impact this incident will have on the local community. My team is working tirelessly to collect evidence and determine how this tragic event occurred.”
She urged local residents with any concerns to approach officers present in the area, or to contact their neighborhood policing teams.
Woodsford also encouraged anyone who was in the vicinity after 20:00 on Thursday to report any suspicious sights or sounds to the police.
“Your information is vital to this investigation and could assist in identifying the suspects. Please step forward; you will be supported,” she concluded.
