LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A lawsuit filed on Wednesday goals to cease NV Power’s Greenlink West transmission line venture, arguing authorities approvals failed to acknowledge what the venture would imply for wildlife and pristine desert ecosystems.
In essence, conservation teams are saying the federal government cannot see the forest for the bushes. By approving the ability line, authorities companies are ignoring the influence of huge photo voltaic farms that may comply with.
Two teams, Pals of Nevada Wilderness and Basin and Vary Watch, are in search of a court docket injunction over approvals issued by the Bureau of Land Administration, the Fish and Wildlife Service and the Nationwide Park Service. NV Power, proprietor of the $4.2 billion venture, is just not named within the lawsuit.

“The fact that the final EIS (Environmental Impact Statement) completely ignored the future impacts of a proposed industrial solar field complex the size of Las Vegas is simply a dereliction of duty,” Pals Govt Director Shaaron Netherton stated. “The transmission line and the new complex are inextricably linked, and the impacts of both should have been thoroughly analyzed. They were not.”
