Zeldin cites ‘respectable questions’ about contrails as EPA launches webpage to fight conspiracy

Environmental Safety Company (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin stated Thursday that People have “legitimate questions” about airplane contrails as his company launches webpages geared toward combatting misinformation on the subject.

Contrails, the vapor trails that comply with high-flying airplanes, are the topic of the “chemtrails” conspiracy idea which baselessly alleges that the paths are literally chemical substances which might be used for secret functions, together with climate modification.

The EPA printed a webpage on Thursday with details about contrails and geoengineering that consultants inform The Hill is correct. 

Dustin Tingley, a public coverage professor at Harvard College, described the EPA’s webpages as “rather thoughtful.”

“The EPA did a responsible job of taking the concerns that people might genuinely have and providing easy to understand explanations,” Tingley stated. 

Columbia College local weather economist Gernot Wagner additionally stated the webpages printed by the EPA are correct.

“The actual ‘About’ page on the EPA website does not seem to get it wrong,” he stated.

The EPA webpage describes “chemtrails” as “a term some people use to inaccurately claim that contrails resulting from routine air traffic are actually an intentional release of dangerous chemicals or biological agents at high altitudes for a variety of nefarious purposes, including population control, mind control or attempts to geoengineer Earth…
