Sporting San Miguelito and Universitario will be putting their leadership on the line in their respective conferences in the fourth round of the 2024 Clausura tournament of the Liga Panameña de Fútbol.
The “academics,” coached by Colombian Jair Palacios and with seven points, will face Plaza Amador this Saturday, which is third in the East conference with four units. Meanwhile, the university team, led by Venezuelan Ángel Sánchez and with nine points in the West conference, will have CAI as their opponent on Saturday – they are second in the division with seven points and are coming off a loss in their Copa Centroamericana match.
The match between Tauro and Alianza from the East conference will kick off this Friday’s fourth round. Both teams need to earn points to climb out of the lower part of the table.
Sunday has two scheduled matches, with Potros del Este versus Árabe Unido being the most enticing. The “blue express,” coached by Venezuelan Francisco Perlo and second in 6 units, will try to win to regain first place if San Miguelito stumbles in their match.
On that same day Herrera and San Francisco will conclude Sunday’s games.
The fourth round will come to an end on Monday with a clash between Veraguas United and Umecit.
