Samsung Galaxy S25 Series: Anticipating the Integration of Qi2 Charging Technology
Recently, the European editions of Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series made an appearance at the FCC, revealing important details about their wireless charging capabilities. While it’s confirmed that these models will incorporate wireless charging, specifics on the type were not disclosed. According to renowned leaker Ice Universe, mentioned by Jukanlosreve, it appears that the S25 will support Qi2 technology.
This statement raises further questions about what this entails. As discussed previously, Qi2 has two distinct profiles: the Extended Power Profile (EPP), which operates at 15W without magnets for orientation; and the Magnetic Power Profile (MPP), also at 15W but designed to utilize magnets for precise alignment and attachment. Notably, one of the first smartphones to adopt Qi2 MPP is already available on the market: HMD’s Skyline.

Add another layer to this discussion is Oppo’s range of “Oppo Mag” accessories featuring embedded magnets within cases designed specifically for better compatibility with these devices. Additionally, OnePlus 13 models allow compatibility with magnet-centric accessories through specialized cases; however, they do not support Qi2 standards and operate instead on a unique technology known as “MagVOOC.”
