With college football just a few months away, PPF College’s Trevor Sikkema listed his top 10 quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Four Big 12 quarterbacks made the list including Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders at No. 3, Kansas’ Jalon Daniels at No. 5, Houston’s Donovan Smith at No. 9, and Arizona’s Noah Fifita at No. 10.
Quarterbacks Conner Weigman (Texas A&M) and Carson Beck (Georgia) were the top two players on the list.
Expectations are very high in Boulder next season with Sanders and star wide receiver/defensive back Travis Hunter returning after a 4-8 finish in 2023. The Buffaloes will be playing in the Big 12 Conference this season for the first time since 2010. Last season, Sanders tossed 27 touchdowns and only three interceptions.
Daniels was sidelined for a portion of the 2023 season due to a back injury, but he turned the program around after helping the Jayhawks reach their first bowl game in 2022 since 2008. The dual-threat QB is expected to be back in action for KU.
Houston struggled in its first season playing in the Big 12, but Smith still had a strong showing in 2023. The senior threw for 2,801 yards and 22 touchdowns, including a season-high 378 yards in a loss to Texas.
The Wildcats were led by Fifita last season, finishing No. 11 in the nation as he threw for 25 touchdowns and only six interceptions during his first season as a starting quarterback.
