What Wisconsin Football Is Getting With Physical ’25 Tight End Niyzi Davis

The Wisconsin football staff has closed the door on their recruit of Nizyi Davis with a commitment early this afternoon.

Davis, an accomplished tight end from Indiana, has been a priority target on offense for the Badgers for some time. The Wisconsin football staff fell in-love with the physical, tough nature of play out of Davis, and now make the tight end a Badger. Davis joins the Badgers recruiting class just days after he completed an official visit in Madison.

Earlier this afternoon, Indiana native and Wisconsin football target Nizyi Davis announced his intentions to commit to the University. Davis, a versatile tight end, comes in at 6-foot-4-inches, and 215-pounds with a surprising burst of speed. The tight end has an excellent balance between physical size and natural speed for the position.

Davis took an official visit on May 31st with the Wisconsin football staff and met everyone in Madison. The tight end had two other visit scheduled with the Kansas Jayhawks and Purdue Boilermakers. Davis announced his commitment decision before taking either scheduled official visit with a different program.

The tight end held two crystal ball predictions to land with the Wisconsin Badgers football program, and ultimately did.

If there is one way to describe the style of play Wisconsin football embraces under Head Coach Luke Fickell, and it is ‘Violent’. Wisconsin leaves no prisoners on the field and wants to play a style of football that crushes the opposing team on the field. However, the Badgers struggled to do so a season ago, and it largely felt like it was due to the lack of scheme fits at the time.

Now, the Wisconsin football staff has stayed in their lane and put all of their recruiting focus towards players that embody the same play-style. Wisconsin made the decision to put all of their eggs in the Nizyi Davis basket it hopes of landing ‘Their Guy’, and they were able to do just that. Davis is not afraid to lower a shoulder or throw out a stiff arm when needed.

Along with that, Davis is a intelligent player and a difficult player to ever fully take out of the equation due to the vastness of what he offers on the field.

Can Davis Find his Way into the Wisconsin Football Lineup as a Freshman?

For Davis, finding playing time once he arrives on campus with the Badgers in a year could be an easier task than originally thought. The Wisconsin football program has struggled to produce at the position the last few years, and have benefitted from certain players overachieving. Davis, however, can offer something nobody else in the room can for the Badgers which is a violent style of play.

Davis initiates and finishes blocks on offense, and when he is not blocking, he is able to make exceptional receptions in the air. With the versatility that Davis provides, it would be difficult to imagine the tight end not hitting the field early on.
