SpaceX is upgrading Starship’s heat shield with new tiles that are twice as strong as the previous version used during the flight 4 test. SpaceX is adingd an ablative secondary structure behind the tiles to provide an extra layer of protection in case a tile becomes damaged or detached. The work on removing the old heat shield and adding the new heat shield is underway. Starshipgazer.com and What About It? have some pictures of the work.
