WASHINGTON (DC News Now) – USA Rugby wrapped up practice Thursday morning ahead of their international game against Scotland on Friday, which will be the third game of the “American Series.”
The team was in Chicago last week, and now they’re soaking up the sights of the District.
“It’s it’s not very often that you see games like this, you know, in the capital with all the buzz that’s going on,” said team captain Greg Peterson. Peterson sang praises of the reception and energy from rugby fans across D.C.

“Yeah, just kind of confirms all my bragging to everybody about how great this place is,” said Peterson’s teammate and DMV native Jack Iscaro. Iscaro has played in D.C. before, but he said he feels a different energy this time.
“It’s special. I mean, it’s a beautiful stadium. And obviously, knowing that it’ll be full of friends and family for me is a pretty special feeling,” Iscaro said. “it’s a bit different being on the field than watching in the stands.”
Iscaro couldn’t contain his excitement when he landed either.
“He stood up at the front of the bus being the full tour guide,” said Peterson. “It’s awesome having him on the team and being a part of it and, you know, bringing us to his hometown.”
Despite the surreal feeling of being home, Iscaro and the team are fully prepared for Scotland and whatever they will bring to Audi.
The game is set for July 12 at 6:30 p.m.
