Two games into the pre-season for Barcelona and Pablo Torre has made a fine impression on new manager Hansi Flick.
Having swiftly returned to training after a hand fracture, the 21-year-old scored the only goal of the game for the Blaugrana against UE Olot in a behind-closed-doors friendly last week.
Then, last night, the former Racing Santander starlet was at it again as he scored against Manchester City in Barcelona’s first friendly of the USA tour in Orlando.
Making a strong case to stay
Despite staring at an uncertain future at the club, Torre is determined to prove himself to Hansi Flick and earn a place for himself at Barcelona. And, he made a strong case for that with a fine performance during his time on the pitch against Manchester City.
Torre showed good synergy partnering up with the La Masia duo of Marc Casado and Marc Bernal in the centre of the park.
Indeed, the 21-year-old was good on the ball and pressed well when out of possession while topping it off with a goal to make it 2-1 in the first period.

However, the night ended with a bit of a negative note for Pablo Torre as he suffered from some discomfort, reports SPORT.
On being substituted, the former Racing Santander starlet headed straight for the dressing room instead of joining his teammates on the bench because of the said discomfort.
It is claimed that the midfielder’s issue arose due to a hard tackle he received during the game as well as a blow on the back of his thigh.
Torre aiming to convince Flick
Speaking after the game, though, the youngster, who is now Barcelona’s pre-season top scorer, did not give much away but insisted he hopes to convince Flick, saying:
“Hopefully, that will be the case. In the end, you have to work day by day and enjoy it too. I feel very comfortable in the midfield, in the ‘10’, with a bit of freedom.
