Tottenham managed to put 4 past Everton without conceding any at home in their 3pm Saturday kickoff, and Cristian Romero shone as Spurs grabbed their first three points of the season.
Player Ratings
Tottenham
Romero would get a perfect 10 rating for his performance across the 90 minutes, whilst Son Heungmin (9.3) would have an impeccable match alongside Yves Bissouma (8.6) and James Maddison (8.1).
Here are the player ratings for Tottenham:
Everton
Everton are already looking like a side that will be in a tough relegation battle again this season, with goalkeeper Jordan Pickford getting a 4.9 for his performance (including a mistake that gifted Son a goal) whilst Dwight McNeil was the only spark of quality for the Toffees scoring a 7.2 rating.
Here are the player ratings for Everton:
Best Player of the Match
Cristian Romero
As noted, Romero had a perfect performance, with a goal, 10 duels won, 6 tackles won, 3 aerials won and 94% success rate with his passing showcasing just how good he was on the day.
Worst Player on the Pitch
Jordan Pickford
Jordan Pickford is going to be a vital part of this Everton side as they try to avoid relegation, but with 4 goals going in past him he managed a rating of 4.9, the worst on the pitch.
Hopefully the England starter will be able to pick it up in the coming weeks as the Toffees will be relying on him getting some consistency and fast.
