Both Brentford and Southampton will be looking to bounce back from losses in their last Premier League game to put in a positive performance this Saturday.
The Bees faced a tough task away at Liverpool, and although they acquitted themselves admirably, they eventually succumbed to a 2-0 loss. Southampton, meanwhile, suffered their second defeat of the new season at home to Nottingham Forest 1-0.
Match Preview
Brentford recent form
Brentford do have a league win to their name and it came on the opening day as they were slightly fortuitous in victory at home versus Crystal Palace, winning 2-1.
Last Sunday, they lost 2-0 versus Liverpool but did get back to winning ways, albeit in the League Cup, during the week as they beat Colchester 1-0 away from home.
Brentford injury news
Josh DaSilva, Aaron Hickey, Rico Henry and Igor Thiago are all out for Brentford. The Brazilian striker didn’t kick a competitive ball for the club before suffering a serious knee injury and he won’t play again until 2025.

Southampton recent form
Midweek, the Saints were involved in one of the games of the round in the League Cup as they overcame Cardiff in a 5-3 thriller away from home. Cameron Archer bagged two goals in that one.
It would have been a welcome relief for Russell Martin’s side, who have lost their opening two Premier League games versus Newcastle and Forest. They are yet to score in the league.
Southampton injury news
Gavin Bazunu and Ross Stewart are definitely out and the former won’t play again until next year, though there is hope that Kamaldeen Sulemana could feature as he nears a recovery from an ankle issue.
