According to a report from AS, Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez is expected to be ready for the league match against Girona on Sunday, 15 September.
The outlet mentions that Fermin arrived at the training camp for the Spanish Under-21 national team on Monday.
He took part in the afternoon training session with his teammates, but by the end of it, he was experiencing some discomfort. Following this, he underwent an MRI scan and was subsequently discharged from the hospital.
The good news is that Fermin’s condition is not serious. The discomfort he felt is mainly due to the intense summer he has had.
A very active summer
It must be noted that Fermin was very active over the summer, having played a significant role in helping Spain win the Euros and securing an Olympic gold medal in Paris.

These achievements have understandably taken a toll on his body, and he now needs some rest to recover fully.
Earlier today, there were reports that Fermin had suffered an injury while with the Spanish Under-21 team. Initial assessments suggested he could be sidelined for about a month.
However, after further evaluation, it appears that the situation is not as concerning as first thought. The MRI results have cleared him of any severe injury, meaning he won’t need an extended break.
Interestingly, despite his recent discomfort, Fermin is still determined to be available for Barcelona’s upcoming league game against Girona. His willingness to push through and be fit for the match highlights his dedication and commitment to the team.
Barcelona fans will be relieved to hear that Fermin is not facing a long-term absence and could soon be back on the pitch, contributing to the team’s efforts.
In summary, while Fermin needs a bit of rest due to the demanding summer he had, he should be fit to play in Barcelona’s next league…
