Liverpool winger Luis Diaz could be offered a new deal at the club.

According to a report from This is Anfield, Liverpool are planning contract talks with the 27-year-old Colombian international, and it remains to be seen whether all parties can secure an agreement.

Diaz has been a key player for Liverpool since joining the club from Porto and he has picked up 27 goals, and 14 assists in all competitions so far.

The winger is at the peak of his powers right now and it is no surprise that Liverpool want to hold on to him for the long term. Mohamed Salah is in the final year of his contract with the club and he could move on as a free agent next summer. Liverpool will not want to lose both of their wingers. Therefore, it makes sense for them to secure the future of the Colombian.

The South American has been linked with the move away from Liverpool in recent months, but the Reds managed to hold onto him in the end.

Luis Diaz could opt to sign a new deal at Liverpool

Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in the world and they have been pushing for major trophies in recent seasons. It is fair to assume that the South American will be tempted to commit his long-term future to the club. They have started the season well and they have picked up three wins in three league matches. The Reds recently picked up a 3-0 win over Manchester United away from home and Diaz scored a brace in that game.

The 27-year-old winger is clearly an indispensable asset for Liverpool and the fans will be delighted to see that the club are working to tie him down to a new long-term deal.
