A tragic incident occurred on Sunday night when a car collided with a disabled tractor-trailer on the New Jersey Turnpike in Bergen County, resulting in the death of a man and injury to a baby. The car, heading northbound, rear-ended the disabled tractor-trailer at milepost 121.4. The driver of the car, Justin Veras, aged 34 from Nutley, tragically lost his life in the collision. A 20-month-old passenger was also injured but is expected to survive.
No further injuries were reported as a result of this devastating accident.
State police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron confirmed that an investigation into the crash is ongoing to determine its cause and any contributing factors.
