Brazil are going through a difficult time under manager Dorival Junior and are in need of inspiration ahead of their upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifying fixtures this month.
Following their 1-0 defeat to Paraguay last month, the Selecao will need to get back on track when they face Chile and Peru over the coming week.
A change of role for Raphinha
As such, SPORT’s Joaquim Piera reports that Brazil manager Dorival Junior plans on a shift in tactics, which would also involve a role change for Raphinha.
It must be remembered that the Barcelona winger was not even called up to the squad during last month’s international break. But following an exceptional run of form this month, he has forced his way back into the roster.

While Raphinha has largely played in his natural right-wing position for Brazil, Dorival Junior now plans to deploy him in the central attacking midfield role – a spot where he has thrived this season under Hansi Flick.
The German tactician’s tactic to utilise him through the centre has worked a treat, with Raphinha playing some of his best football in Barcelona colours.
And, Brazil hope to unlock something similar with the move, with the Barça ace set to operate in the No. 10 role in place of Lucas Paqueta, who will move into the midfield double pivot.
Real Madrid’s Rodrygo and Manchester City starlet Savinho will flank Raphinha while debutant Igor Jesus of Botafogo is tipped to line up as the centre-forward.
Raphinha, having made his way back into the Brazil national team, will be eager to carry forward his club form and inspire the Selecao to a win.
