University of Maryland Welcomes New Inductees into Athletics Hall of Fame
On Friday, the University of Maryland’s athletics department, in collaboration with the M Club, will recognize eight outstanding Terrapins by inducting them into the Athletics Hall of Fame. The distinguished Class of 2024 features:

“This class showcases an incredible range of talent and achievement,” expressed Damon Evans, Barry P. Gossett Director of Athletics. “These Terps are not only recognized as National Players of the Year but also include pioneers in their respective sports. Their influence on Maryland Athletics has been profound both on and off the field.”
Honoring Significant Contributions
Established in 1982 through a partnership between the M Club and the athletics department, the Maryland Athletics Hall of Fame represents one loftiest honors available to those associated with collegiate sports at this institution.
In addition to inducting new members into its hall-of-fame roster this year, the M Club will recognize several exceptional contributors with Honorary M Awards. Honorees include Professor Bradley Hatfield from kinesiology—who has acted as Faculty Athletics Representative—and Lauri Kenis from women’s lacrosse coaching staff alongside Scott Weitz ’90 for their exceptional service to Maryland Athletics over many years.
Moreover, Harvey Sanders ’72 will receive accolades as Distinguished Citizen of Year for his long-standing commitment to supporting student-athletes at Maryland.
