The Los Angeles Dodgers are continuing to make splash moves even after winning the World Series.
With another strong free agent class available, the Dodgers are gearing up for the 2025 season by adding two-time Cy Young Award-winner Blake Snell this offseason.
Snell signed a five-year deal worth $182 million, and the Dodgers are likely not done there before the season starts.
MLB analyst Harold Reynolds revealed what the next move should be for the Dodgers.
“I think they’re going to get an outfielder,” Reynolds said, via MLB Network.
What is the next move for the Dodgers this offseason?
— MLB Network (@MLBNetwork) December 2, 2024
The Dodgers won the eighth World Series title in franchise history after signing the free agent who headlined last year’s class, Shohei Ohtani.
Reynolds said they should now look for an outfielder, with Teoscar Hernandez a free agent and wanting to move Mookie Betts to second base.
Some moves Reynolds mentions are re-signing Hernandez or signing free agent Anthony Santander from the Baltimore Orioles.
The big name Reynolds also mentions is the headliner of this year’s free agent class, Juan Soto of the New York Yankees.
If the Dodgers were able to sign Soto, they would take one of the best players from their 2024 World Series opponent and likely be heavily favored to win the title again in 2025.
It will be interesting to see how the Dodgers approach the rest of the offseason and whether or not they take a real run at signing Soto.
