Shakur Stevenson slammed Gervonta Davis in an interview, mentioning that he’s used weight stipulations on his opponents and dealing with “less talented fighters” to make himself look higher than he’s.
WBC light-weight champion Stevenson (22-0, 10 KOs) received riled up when instructed that Gervonta wasn’t impressed together with his file and requested what he has carried out in his profession for him to need to battle him. Tank shut down any risk of a battle towards Shakur, deeming him unworthy to fulfill with the King. That’s true. Shakur is totally unfit to be in his presence.
It’s Shakur’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, who has been discussing the concept of him combating Tank Davis in 2025. Hearn has mapped out 2025 for the Newark, New Jersey native, speaking about him combating these three:
Floyd Schofield
William Zepeda
Gervonta Davis
Now, Shakur is even blabbering like a battle with Tank Davis is a forgone conclusion, with out him saying something. Tank is like, ‘What is this guy talking about?’
Weight Drain Accusations
“The same way he asks what have I done for the sport of boxing, I think he should look in the mirror and ask the same question because it’s like what have you done?” continued Shakur about Tank Davis. “Even the blokes you knocked out have all been on a weight clause, a weight drain. It seems good to the general public and the those that don’t know, however I’m a fighter. I do know what’s occurring. I do know what you’re doing.
“You’re taking the less talented fighters and putting them in the ring with yourself and making them look like they’re on his level, but they’re not. Until he fights an elite-level fighter, I don’t want to hear nothing from him,” stated Shakur.
What Gervonta is saying is 100% true. Who has Shakur fought throughout his profession? Nobody good. He beat a few washed-up fighters at 130, captured three paper titles towards weak opposition, and seemed hellishly unhealthy since transferring as much as 135. He was booed out of the world in his battle towards Edwin De Los Santos, and followers fled in droves in his final battle towards the weak-punching Artem Harutyunyan final July in his hometown of Newark.
“Fight Someone I Fought!”
“He [Tank] acted like he couldn’t get a lot of people in the ring. Why didn’t he try to get Edwin De Los Santos? Why wouldn’t that be a fight that you want? Since you want to talk bad about me, fight somebody I fought. And you talked about my performance doing it. So, out-perform me,” stated Shakur.
Tank combating Edwin De Los Santos would do nothing for him and his profession as a result of that man hasn’t fought in 14 months. He can be coming off a loss to Stevenson, and by the point Gervonta fought him in August or September, he would have been inactive for 21 months.
Shakur’s inventory has plummeted since he was uncovered as a hen runner by De Los Santos on November 16, 2023. He has carried out nothing to show issues round by combating a rematch with him or trying courageous in his subsequent battle towards the light-hitting Arten Harutyunyan.
