Train operations in south London will experience interruptions during the Easter weekend due to extensive railway improvements, according to Network Rail.
The project involves reconstructing a railway junction in Battersea, implementing a new signalling system in Lewisham, and installing fresh tracks on the Bromley North branch line.
Network Rail has advised passengers to make arrangements in advance for the Easter weekend, as Thameslink, Southern, and Southeastern services will all be impacted.
David Davidson, the director of the Kent route at Network Rail, commented: “We encourage travelers to plan their journeys and verify their travel details, as more than 90% of the network remains operational with trains running.”
As a result of the work, Southeastern trains to and from London Victoria will be redirected to London Cannon Street, London Charing Cross, or London Blackfriars from April 18 to April 21. Additionally, Brixton station will be closed during this period.
Southern will operate a limited service between London Victoria and Clapham Junction, as well as East Croydon, while services to Battersea Park heading towards London Victoria will be suspended.
Trains that typically run between London Victoria and London Bridge will not be available, and there will also be no service between London Bridge and Epsom.
Rail connections from London Victoria to Littlehampton, Eastbourne, and Reigate will be affected as well.
On April 20 and 21, there will be no trains…
